Course Registration

Exciting Announcements

We're excited for you to register for classes this month. In 2023 some exciting new developments in the learning approach to OSOM were launched. In the fall of 2021, OSOM students were given a student satisfaction survey that provided helpful feedback from YOU, the students, on your learning experience here at OSOM. Students were asking for more engagement with the instructors and one another, remote options, and more integrations with their real-world ministry experiences. We were listening. We developed an updated strategy in dialogue with the best educational approaches for adult learners. The new format has been very well received by students and we are excited for you to be a part!

You'll notice that the assignments are outlined in four weeks of coursework. Each week, students will watch a short video lecture and engage in a simple reflection assignment/discussion forum. Some classes will have weekly quizzes and/or other assignments as well. In addition, the reading will be broken down by week so that you read a portion of the book over the course of four weeks. The reflection assignment will be tied to the video lectures. Weekly quizzes and/or the final exam will be tied to the book reading. This shift in approach will not only give you valuable information for your enrichment and leader development, but it will also allow for more discussion time and interaction during live instruction.

Below you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for the course you’ll be taking. Once you have completed the checkout process, you’ll receive an email to a page with the information about the course, the textbooks, the Google Classroom learning portal, and the live class participation.

As you can suspect with the launch of something new, it's not going to be totally perfect. We're learning just like you are. We want to thank you in advance for your patience as we get the process dialed in. Your feedback will be helpful to us. Feel free to reach out to us to share what you love and the areas where a little adjustment is needed.

Ultimately, our aim is to equip you with what you need to be a learning, growing leader for the context in which you will be ministering.

Blessings,

Josh Willaford
Leader Development Director
