Greetings OSOM intern,

Thank you for participating in OSOM‘s Certified Internship as part of your educational requirements for your ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God. We have a few exciting changes to the internship from the previous years to introduce to you.

We’ve moved away from our existing processes and procedures and moved into a Google classroom setting. You will find it much easier to navigate through, as it ties into your existing OSOM coursework in the Google Classroom.  You will be able to:

- Write and submit your reports in the classroom, thus eliminating emailing scanned documents to
the OSOM registrar.
- View your graded assignments/reports directly on the Google Classroom.
- Have easy access to the two-page Internship Manual and Checklist as you complete your assignments.
- Have access to the documents your mentor will need to complete.

The objectives are the same as the prior Internship Manual, but they are now weaved into Ohio for Jesus (OFJ) Key Results and Every Disciplines. Through this addition, you will gain proficiency in OFJ’s Leadership Development, Church Health, Church Multiplication, and Missions Partnerships, all while continuing to learn ministry practices through a hands-on approach under the supervision of a mentor. 

We’ve also simplified the required reading by narrowing it down to OMN’s Ohio for Jesus books that feature each Key Results, written by various OMN Directors. Each book is linked digitally in the Google Classroom, so no purchase is required.

Steps to complete the internship:

1)   Print off the Mentor Guide and give this to your mentor before you start the internship.

2)   Complete the internship steps laid out in the Certified Internship Manual/Google Classroom.

3)   You and your mentor will initial and sign the Certified Internship Checklist. This will need to be printed out, signed, scanned (or take a clear picture) and emailed back to adriane@ohioministry.net once the internship is complete.

4)   Your mentor will complete the Mentor Report found in the Google Classroom once the internship is complete. Please print this document and give this to your mentor. Your mentor will fill this out and scan and email this to adriane@ohioministry.net.

5)   Once everything has been completed and both of these documents submitted, your internship will be graded in the Google Classroom. You will be notified once a final grade is posted.
