Introduction to Hermeneutics

 
 

Overview

This course will introduce students to the principles and methods used to interpret the Bible. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and hands-on exercises, students will learn to critically examine the text of scripture and explore its meaning within its historical and cultural context. Topics covered will include literary genres, historical backgrounds, theological themes, and helpful approaches to interpreting the Bible. By the end of the course, students will have gained the skills necessary to interpret the Bible for themselves and to engage in informed discussions with others about its meaning and significance.

Logging into Google Classroom will add you to the course and give you access to the course material. To view the course material, click the “Classwork” tab at the top of the screen.

Onsite Class Information

  • Class starts at 9:00 a.m. On-site check-in opens at 8:30 a.m. Class will conclude at 4:00 p.m. and there will be an on-site lunch break where lunch will be provided. 

  • Classes are held at the Network Resource Center, 8405 Pulsar Place, Columbus, 43240.
